Emmy-winning actor Tyler Christopher, best known for his roles as Nicholas Casadeine in "General Hospital" (a character he portrayed from 1996 to 1999, 2003 to 2011 and 2013 to 2016) and as Conor Bishop and Stephen Dimara in Days of Our Lives, died Tuesday at his home at the age of 50.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news of Tyler Christopher's passing," actor and former General Hospital colleague Maurice Benard confirmed in an Instagram post Tuesday. "Tyler passed away this morning as a result of cardiac arrest at his home in San Diego. He was a talented man who lit up the screen in every scene he appeared in and derived great satisfaction from bringing joy to devoted fans through his acting. Tyler was a sweet soul and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.

"He has worked to promote mental health and addiction treatment and has spoken openly about his struggles with bipolar disorder and alcohol. We are devastated by the loss of our close friend and pray for his children and father."
"I am heartbroken by the news of Tyler Christopher's passing," General Hospital producer Frank Valentini eulogized him in a statement. "He was a generous and amazing actor and a dear friend, who was loved by the General Hospital family and fans of Nicholas Casadeen (his character in the series; cf). On behalf of all of us at General Hospital, our sincere condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time."
Over the years, Christopher took part in series such as Bewitched, Felisti, Angel, Game of Lies and The Impostor.

Tyler was married to actress Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004 and to ESPN reporter Brian Pedigo from 2008 to 2021, with whom he had two children. Over the years, he has been arrested several times for drunk driving and struggled with alcohol addiction.
